“To me, “Angelystor” has always sounded like a descent into deep time. A bathysphere dropped into The Matter Of Britain, finding the seabed at a depth of five thousand years. When I listen to it, I hear my capsule sinking past the Christian era into misty, barely-understood archaic times. There is a point where I can even hear the friction and sparks as we scrape against the sides of the silo through which we fall. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I own, and one of the things that speaks most strongly of both Britain and history to me.”
From my introduction to ANGELYSTOR by Phil Legard, a book and CD available from Wounded Wolf Press.
